1. Be useful, be respectful
Explain your reasoning. Ask specific doubts and tell others what you tried. Disagree with an idea without attacking the person. Harassment, threats, hate, impersonation, spam, scams, cheating in live assessments and unlawful content are not allowed.
2. Share work you are allowed to share
Post your own explanations, study logs and authorised resource links. Do not paste full third-party question papers, paid solutions, pirated notes or copyrighted compilations. A publicly accessible file is not automatically free to republish. Use a link to the original provider and describe your own difficulty in your own words. Hashtags such as #OperatingSystems and #GATE2027 help members find relevant discussions.
Posts are plain text with safe external links and highlighted hashtags. File uploads are not supported. Never post another person’s private information or your own passwords, OTPs, identity documents or payment credentials.
3. Reporting, moderation and appeals
This CS / IT release offers a global room and a CS / IT room. Other branch choices are disabled until those branches launch. Replies stay in their channel. Admins can pin helpful messages. Share no private contact details; chat messages are visible to signed-in members. Messages are limited to 2,000 characters and server posting limits apply. Chat activity earns no XP.
Use Report on a chat message, post or reply for copyright, abuse, privacy or spam concerns. Reports are private to the reporter and authorised moderators. You can delete your own contribution from the discussion; moderators may hide content and restrict abusive accounts. Hidden threads and their replies are removed from normal community access.
For urgent concerns, copyright notices or appeals, email officialgateplus@gmail.com with the relevant GatePlus link, reason and the minimum supporting details. A rights notice should identify the work, the rights you hold or represent and the exact disputed link or contribution. Do not send unrelated sensitive documents.
4. Fair, understandable XP
- Complete a checklist topic: 20 XP once per topic when you mark the checklist topic complete. No video, practice attempt or focus timer is required. This is a self-declared milestone, not independently verified mastery. The checkbox and Topic reward button use the same milestone; they do not stack.
- Revise a topic: 10 XP after its first completion award, at least 24 hours after its latest topic/revision award, and after a new linked study session of at least two server-recorded minutes.
- Mock participation: 30 XP after submission, at least two active server-recorded minutes and ten saved answers. One bonus per paper per India-calendar day, at most two daily.
- Chapter test participation: 25 XP after submission, at least two active server-recorded minutes and three saved answers. One bonus per chapter per India-calendar day, at most four daily. Topic, revision and test bonuses share a 200 XP daily cap. These bonuses recognise participation, not correctness.
- Helpful contributions: 5 XP for another member’s reply marked Helpful by the discussion author, or a resource link approved by a moderator. Each post can receive its applicable award only once; self-awards are prohibited. Contribution awards are capped at 20 XP per recipient per day and appear in a separate weekly Top Contributors list. Posting or voting alone earns no XP. Acknowledgement is not a guarantee of the accuracy, safety or licensing of a linked resource.
- Independent study and test focus: a resource’s accumulated server-recorded study minutes in one IST day determine its focus XP: 1–under 5 minutes: 2; 5–under 15: 5; 15–under 30: 10; 30–under 60: 15; 60–under 90: 20; 90–under 120: 25; 120 or more: 30 XP. Under one minute earns zero. Later sessions for the same resource earn only the difference to the next tier, not the entire tier again. At most 30 focus XP per resource/day and 120 focus XP per user/day; up to eight hours count. This covers independent Study resources and active test focus, and excludes YouTube viewing. Browser interruptions can reduce recorded time.
- GatePlus original practice: 2 XP for each question’s first correct solution, capped at 200 practice XP per day. Attempts need at least two minutes of active study recorded after starting. Repeating a previously credited answer does not earn XP again. Focus and original-correctness awards can accompany an eligible test bonus.
- No XP for video playback, playlist completion, unreviewed posts, votes, manual time entries, or self-reported external mock scores. YouTube engagement is never incentivised.
- Weekly league: the top 50 members with eligible weekly XP are ranked by XP earned since Monday 00:00 IST. Ties use lifetime XP and then a stable user order. A new week starts with zero weekly XP while lifetime XP continues to accumulate.
- Your example: 380 lifetime XP from last week plus 50 earned this week means 430 lifetime XP and 50 weekly XP.
- Streak: consecutive India-calendar days with at least one minute in a recorded activity or an XP award. A streak can continue from yesterday until you study today.
XP is a motivational measure with no cash value. Rankings are not official GATE ranks. Server checks, limits and deduplication reduce abuse; they do not prove that every logged minute was attentive study. Existing private records stay intact; past activity is not retrospectively credited as competitive XP.
5. Your illustrated badge collection
Lifetime XP determines your current tier. Beginner: 0; Builder: 250; Apprentice: 500; Initiate: 1,000; Practitioner: 1,750; Specialist: 2,750; Strategist: 4,000; Expert: 5,500; Champion: 7,500; Master: 10,000; Legend: 14,000; Titan: 20,000 XP.
These are game titles. They do not represent exam marks, ranks, institutional endorsement, qualifying thresholds or college admission prospects. The collection and lifetime progress do not reset each week. The Claim Reward button acknowledges credit already recorded by the server; it cannot award the same XP twice. Completing an activity may earn zero XP if a threshold, first-correct rule or daily cap has not been met.
Pico gestures, the catch-stars play break, its standalone sprint timer, quests and personal commitments do not award XP. A test must be actively tracked; time while a test is paused or closed is excluded from eligible focus. Connectivity and browser interruptions may reduce recorded time. A sign-in and reward connection are required; guest study stays local.
